My beginnings in music

My name is Liuva. I am a cuban percussionist, who lives in Sweden. I was born and raised in Cuba in a neighbourhood of old Havana called Belen, full of "solares" with their rumbas and Afro-Cuban rhythms that got into my blood. I couldn't resist being a part of the cuban music life, listening, learning, playing myself and sharing my love to cuban music.

Learning

I couldn't resist being a part of the cuban music life, listening, learning, playing myself and sharing my love to cuban music. In my teens age I had the opportunity to learn from the best teachers of percussion and other traditional instruments of Cuban music, such as Arturo Linares “El hueso” (bongo), El indio ( cuban tres), Nilo Valle "Doble ancho" (trumpet), etc. This way I was able to join two female orchestras and became a professional percussionist.
